The Minecraft Spider is a common hostile mob found in the popular sandbox video game, Minecraft. They first appeared in the initial release of the game, and have been a persistent element ever since. Spiders are identifiable by their eight legs, red eyes, and dark coloration.

Unlike many hostile mobs in Minecraft, spiders have the unique ability to climb walls and jump relatively large distances. This can make them dangerous opponents, especially in enclosed spaces or at night when they are more likely to spawn. They also don't burn in daylight, allowing them to pursue the player in all weather conditions.

When defeated, Spiders drop string and spider eyes, both of which can be used in crafting recipes. Their presence adds an element of challenge and unpredictability to the Minecraft experience.
